Two pieces of exciting news for you …
Well just today I have sent out a newsletter, posted on facebook, posted on instagram and now writing this blog post.
It’s been a long time since I have done this much “publicity” for my work. BUT, the excitement I have about restocking the shop, and reminding you about my course in Italy this fall is more information than I can keep to myself!
In case you missed any of the above, I wanted to share everything here as well + I have a video showing a preview of what’s in stock for the SHOP.

In case you missed this…
I have mentioned that I will be teaching a course in Orvieto, Italy in September 2024 from the 15-21 of September 2024.
As I have said before, if you have not treated yourself to an art retreat you should really consider doing so. The work you do and the people you meet at these retreats is unquestionably an experience of a lifetime and I would be so pleased if you joined me and well, the fact that it is in Italy - need I say more.
I did an entire post on the details of the course here. This contains more info than you will see on the registration page so well worth reading.

Shop restock Alert
And more exciting news is that I have finally restocked the SHOP. I have mentioned, I think, in many blog posts that I intended to do this but I had to finish creating the pieces before I could do so.
I know you have heard the “whine” before but as the single owner of Cathy Michaels not only do I create the pieces but following that I have to photograph the items, edit the items, post the items, advertise the items, and list the items and so on and so on. There is a lot more work behind the scenes that even I forget needs to be done before I can offer the new items.
All I really want to do is share the items, and get them out to you!.
In any case. this Saturday, April 27, the new journals and notebooks I have created will be listed and available for purchase in the shop here under Handmade Books.
I think that these pieces are some of the best and most beautiful I have created to date. I am so proud of the “hefty sized” , ephemera filled Junk Journals I have created, the Vintage notebooks with artwork worthy Collage Covers, and the oh-so-simple but “innocent” Pure White, Soft Watercolor Notebooks.
Oh I am squiggling with excitement for you to see them.
One of the things I wanted to mention that may not be obvious is that I would never list anything that I would not spend the money on myself. I try to be really fair in my pricing and want to make your purchases worth your while. Every detail has been considered from the quality and content of these handmade books, to the details of the packaging (this time in beautifully appointed, handmade muslin bags for the junk journals and some surprises for the vintage notebooks and pure white notebooks.
I hope you will land right here on Saturday morning and see what pleases you - treat yourself - I do, especially when items are as unique as these.
